Abstract
  • The challenge faced by this internal consultant/pastor is to facilitate change within an older congregation in an urban setting. The change theory model served as a guide for changing the system of church. Having frozen in a style of ministry that was basically self-serving, the challenge of the pastor/consultant was to facilitate change to bring into focus both the needs of the present members and the needs of the community at large. Through a variety of planned events and information generation a new missional understanding and commitment was accepted and has begun to be lived out by the church and her members.
