Abstract
  • This project was designed to expand the role of praise in the Sunday morning worship services at a 300 member American Baptist Church. Praise is defined as the demonstrative expression of adoration to God for God and his acts in history. The project identified the biblical, theological and historical bases for expanding praise in worship. Various elements of worship through which praise is offered are identified. Changes in the expectations of congregants are analyzed by comparing three questionnaires completed at different times during the project period. Attention was given to increasing the degree of participation of congregants in both the planning and conducting of worship.
