- Abstract
- Field research undertaken in the West African countries of Niger, Benin, and Burkina Faso was integrated with archival research to produce the historical record of the ministry of the Sudan Interior Mission in that region during the period 1924-62. The examples of church planting, leadership training, church growth, and government relationships in the history are then compared and contrasted with current missiological writings in those areas. A final chapter proposes some areas of competence for consideration in the training of future missionaries, the particular areas being identified from the history that has been studied.
