Abstract
  • All that a church is, says, and believes is articulated in and through gathered worship. That being the case, the dynamic of worship deserves most careful attention. Research is conducted through analysis of the Bible and historical writings of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This is placed within the framework of the 'five orders of worship' of Campbell and early Disciples. The author concludes that Disciples are forsaking their historical/theological heritage in public leadership of worship. Liturgial renewal within the Disciples tradition can be facilitated when local leaders are trained in the theology and leadership of worship.
