- Abstract
- The purpose of this project was to examine the extent of the relevance of literature on Appalachian culture and literature regarding the relation of postmodernism to ministry in Appalachia. The project includes a literature review, descriptors of the Appalachian and postmodern mindsets arising from that review, a survey based on those descriptors, survey results and conclusions. The survey was distributed in a two-church United Methodist Charge in central Pennsylvania. The survey results and literature seemed to indicate a trend toward agreement with postmodern views and away from Appalachian views as one views the respondents in age groups from older to younger.
