Abstract
  • This project redefines work in the light of scriptural and human values; probes for root causes of unemployment in modern society; reviews their human and social cost; reviews models for ministry and suggests strategies for change; discusses a need for a new ethic of work which recognizes the value of the individual apart from how a persons makes a living; and calls for community which affirms individual worth. The causes are systemic in nature; there is little that the victim can do. Both private enterprise and government must play a role. The church must play an important role, also.
