- Abstract
- The project proposes a model for pastoral counseling based upon biblical wisdom materials. The acquisition and application of wisdom is perceived as fundamental in helping troubled persons. Using the insights of James Williams, the author suggests three interdependent levels of problem-solving: level 1 (Proverbs) seeks to re-establish order in all human experience (spiritual, psychological, medical, etc.); level 2 (Job, Ecclesiastes) deals with the enigma of evil and accepts the client also as victim; level 3 (NT wisdom) focuses on hope and faith provided in the eschatological teachings of Christ and the apostles.
