- Abstract
- This project developed and evaluated a theoretical model and program to be used in workshop and retreat contexts. the model/program was developed to help Roman Catholics and others in Twelve Step programs to find more life-giving God representations. It drew on bodies of literature from Twelve Step traditions, addiction and shame, Object Relations Theory, and Roman Catholic pastoral tradition. Results showed that the model/program was very helpful to participants. It seemed best used in the context of a retreat rather than workshop and was as effective for people brought up in the Roman catholic tradition as with those who were not.
