Abstract
  • The purpose of this study is to design, implement, and evaluate a retreat weekend for married couples which enables them: 1. to reflect and dialogue on their experience of God; 2. to learn about the biblical image of covenant from 'Gaudium et Spes'; 3. to become familiar with one example of marital spirituality; and 4. to begin to integrate their experience with the conciliar image. Part one examines marriage as covenant in 'Gaudium et Spes', subsequent theological development, and the spirituality of marriage by the Whiteheads. Part two describes the retreat and evaluates the results as the participants renewed their conjugal relationships and gathers insight into their experience of God and church.
