  • The purpose of this dissertation is to study the ministry performed by the clergy of Oklahoma City following the bombing on April 19, 1995; reflect on the theological implications; study the effects of grief and the mourning process; and develop a guide for clergy to follow in preparation for their own response to a major disaster. The appendix contains many useful tools in working through issues related to grief and mourning. It contains tools to identify and reduce stress during a major disaster. And, it contains tools for clergy and churches to use in preparing to respond to a disaster.
