- Abstract
- The model's focus was helping Port Allegany and Youngsville Evangelical United Methodist churches equip their leadership. Transforming laypersons into leaders required seeking, encouraging, equipping, and deploying them in ministry. Spiritual formation and spiritual gifts were the primary focus. Spiritual gifts inventories were used to determine the giftedness of laity. Lectures were used in the Wesleyan class meeting format, expressing the Wesleyan spirit, supported by tools helpful in accomplishing the desired result. The spiritual gifts inventory and two evaluation questionnaires were used. The result of the project was that some individuals were transformed and placed into ministry while others were not.
