Abstract
  • This project studies a congregation using systems theory in order to analyze the ability of the church to assimilate new members. New member assimilation can be best improved by developing a healthy system that new members may join. The project involved 10 church members in an eight-week study using lectures, group dialogue, and psychological instruments. The project revealed areas of strength and weakness in the congregation's system and developed plans to enhance the system's effectiveness in relationship building.
