- Abstract
- Oral communicators, primarily illiterates and functional illiterates, learn best and recall the most from information presented through narrative formats. They learn least and experience the poorest recall from expositional presentations and other literate styles. Most literate Gospel presenters use expositional presentation formats when presenting the Gospel among oral communicators. This project employs four years of research and use of Chronological Bible Storying in cross-cultural settings by members of the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board. The project developed and tested a training module during a workshop in England in 1994. Once tested and refined, the module, including curriculum outlines, is published as part of an official text to be used in training literate missionaries and their colleagues to story the Gospel to oral communicators.
