Abstract
  • The author, a USAF chaplain, designed, implemented and evaluated a ministry initiative, 'Common Ground,' crafted to engage military members less than twenty-six years of age and enable them to discover, experience and promote authentic Christianity. The iteration of the 'Common Ground' initiative described was launched in the context of a deployed combat zone in Kirkuk, Iraq in 2006. It was evaluated using a custom measurement tool, the 'Common Ground Spiritual Fitness Survey.' The research collected during the evaluation period validated the hypotheses and provided valuable insights which will enhance ministry initiatives targeting young military members.
