Abstract
  • This project examines the lives of church-goers who are managers in fast-changing, competitive business corporations, and suggests ways effective ministry can be provided to them in the local parish. Through a written survey and in-depth interviews, mangers' personal and professional experiences, attitudes, and theological beliefs were explored. The project concludes that for numerous historical and cultural reasons, managers separate their faith from their work. Local churches tend to reinforce that separation. Unacknowledged grief and lack of support can result. New initiatives in pastoral care and worship, and a prophetic critique of contemporary economics are recommended.
