Abstract

The author created a course titled both 'The life, spirituality and call to sainthood of St Jane Frances de Chantal: an adult religious education course' (college level) and 'Salesian spirituality' (high school level) in which she shows the relevance of two sixteenth century saints (Jane and Francis de Sales) to contemporary man's goal toward achieving the Second Vatican Council's call to holiness. The author has taught the course continuously since 2005 through lecture, selected readings of primary and secondary source material, and discussion. The project thesis includes lecture notes for the course as well as pre and post course assessments.
