  • Local churches--not parachurches--are ordained by God to train its members to serve God. The training method, like the one Jesus used, is called the experiential approach, not the academic model. First Baptist Church of Tempe, Arizona, used the experiential approach, while applying the six steps toward their journey of Ephesians 4:11-12. The results after four years include: salvation almost weekly, nine pastors in training, significant increase in the number of Christians serving, PITs preaching on Sunday mornings and evenings, twenty new evangelism explosion teams each year, church budgets achieved, a balance of grace and holiness, and no super stars. First Baptist Church averages 600 in attendance on Sunday mornings.
