Abstract
  • The intersection of the parents' pastoral needs, the chaplain's need for theological integrity and contemporary hospital culture creates a unique pastoral challenge for chaplains who are asked to baptize a stillborn baby. The ministry project discusses different ways chaplains can offer compassionate pastoral care while maintaining theological integrity. It proposes a framework for developing a training program which encourages open theological reflection in order to improve the quality of pastoral care services related to stillborn baptism.
