Abstract
  • This project is designed to offer a pastoral and priestly dimension for those who perceive that the district superintendency involves more than administrative and supervisory dimensions. Through the preaching of the Word and the celebration of the Eucharist in the district meetings of the clergy and the laity, the district superintendent becomes more than a manager of order. When implemented in the two districts, the data received in the evaluative process indicates that the district superintendent may be perceived as a spiritual leader of the district. As a result of this perception, trust of the superintendency was enhanced, and appreciation for the connectional church was vitalized.
