Abstract
  • This research project discloses that world missions is a 'required' ministry and obligation of the local church, not just an elective or luxury program. The methods used in this research are from the perspectives of biblical theology, systematic theology, historical theology, sociology, futurology, statistics, and practical theology. There are two parts of this research. The first part is the foundation of world missions and its development, including four chapters: The Bible and World Missions; The Church and World Mission; Church History and World Missions; Era and World Missions. The second part is the investigation of world missions and its implementation in the Chinese churches, including two chapters: A Survey for Mission Ministries of the Chinese Churches; and, Implementation of Mission Ministries of the Chinese Churches. Through surveying and analyzing world mission ministries involvement of forty-seven Chinese local churches in the metropolitan Los Angeles area, the author also proposes a feasible plan for the local church to implement world missions.
