Abstract
  • Buckhead Community Church, like Willow Creek Community Church, Saddleback Valley Community Church, and many 'seeker churches,' reaches the unchurched through culturally relevant ministry. The purpose of this thesis is to describe the tension between cultural relevance and biblical purity, to identify and evaluate concerns with this approach, and to offer suggestions as to how seeker churches can maintain biblical purity. Using bibliographic research, it takes a look at the potential compromises of biblical purity in adopting a seeker-focused approach to ministry and argues that it is possible to be culturally relevant ant to maintain biblical purity.
