Abstract
  • The objective of the project is that an understanding of the dynamics of the four Jungian psychological type functions could increase a pastor's ability to effectively communicate a sermon. Two discussion groups (those active in the congregation) consisting of two each of the four function pairs were selected. The sermon was preached and discussed at midweek, rewritten, preached during Sunday worship and then discussed with the second group. Study of psychological type theory and the analysis of the group discussions concluded that one could learn to simultaneously preach to the four psychological functions, resulting in more effective sermon communication.
