Abstract
  • This project's purpose was to determine if a short-term educational effort can significantly impact the attitudes about alcohol among members of a local Methodist congregation. An experimental group was exposed to six one-hour alcohol education sessions over as many weeks. A control group in a comparable nearby church received no education. Utilizing identical anonymous pretests and posttests for both groups, it was determined a significant change did take place in the attitudes of the experimental group, but not in the control group. The project concluded that alcohol education can have a significant immediate effect on individuals' attitudes on the subject.
