Abstract
  • This study documents the changing roles of men within the churches of the United Church of Christ (UCC)--U.S.A. over the past 40 years and explains how these changes have occurred, what are some of the present men's ministry configurations that have resulted from these changes, and what futures are possible for men in UCC churches. It proposes a plan for men's ministry in the UCC informed by Scripture, theology, narrative theory, and work of the social sciences related to gender issues. The presentation of six case studies of men in UCC parishes highlights this narrative study.
