Abstract
  • In 1980 the author experienced a life-changing small group community of friends where intentional relationships for spiritual growth and renewal flourished. As a result of this group, the author has spent the last twenty-five years studying about and leading small groups. She has a passion for training and encouraging individuals and churches in designing, leading, and maintaining healthy small group communities where, by God's grace, life-change can happen. What constitutes a healthy small group? In what way does authentic Christian community contribute to spiritual renewal and life-transformation? The author has attempted to give voice to the necessary ingredients that answer these concerns. The eight chapters include essential components of healthy group process, conclude with an appropriate Bible study, and challenge individuals to lead with excellence.
