Abstract
  • Christian women suffer verbal, psychological, and spiritual abuse from their husbands at an alarming rate. Many of these husbands claim to believe in the Bible and the deity of Jesus Christ. Women are unsure if the Bible deals with abuse. This thesis demonstrates the need for women to learn what God's word says about marriage and abuse. Support groups are needed where women are free to discuss their pain. It also demonstrates the need for church leaders to be educated regarding abuse and the Bible's response to it, so they can be effective ministers of the gospel.
