Abstract
  • Providing a relevant biblical curriculum within a relationship of encouragement, accountability, and prayer, will facilitate spiritual growth in interns, integration of faith in medical practice, and discipleship. The author used a survey and a review of the medical literature to identify the obstacles and facilitators of spiritual growth during internship. Then she designed a curriculum of twelve Bible lessons which were piloted by mentor-intern pairs. Many obstacles prevented mentors and interns from adequately piloting the curriculum, although those who did use the curriculum found it very helpful. More instructions and guidelines were needed for the mentors and interns.
