Abstract
  • This study used key components of Mosaic communal principles referred to as the Mosaic covenant of shalom as the hermeneutic to examine both Old and New Testaments. This understanding of community is based on the righteousness of God and egalitarian relationships among the community evidenced by equitable distribution of needed goods and power within society. Taught by the prophets and Jesus, this jubilary principle inspired the apostolic church and groups in this country to build community. This biblical tool is used to assess efforts to build community called Zion in one particular faith group.
