- Abstract
- In September 2003, the National Baptist Convention USA INC (NBC-INC) announced the launch of its HIV/AIDS Initiative in southern Africa. The Foreign Misison Board (FMB), an auxiliary of the NBC-INC, was given the responsibility to implement the initiative. After the FMB gathered pertinent information, it planned and implemented an HIV/AIDS Leadership Empowerment Conference in South Africa July 4-9, 2004. This study will describe changes taking place in the way mission ministry is carried out in Swaziland and South Africa as a result of the FMB NBC-INC HIV/AIDS Initiative and the Leadership Empowerment Conference.
