Abstract
  • This thesis addresses pastoral and lay leadership. The thesis proposes that the church as the body of Christ is distinctively a community of people whose doctrine of ministry and view of the nature and purpose of leadership are best exemplified in forms characterized by mutuality, faithfulness, caring, and service. The thesis proposes a style of leadership typified in the role of 'edifier' or 'master builder,' and explores the implications for the ministry of the church.
