Abstract
  • The cultural context in which one ministers should help shape the mode and content of Christian corporate worship. This dissertation examines current literature on Christian corporate worship as well as literature describing current cultural characteristics in the United States. A six-week series of worship services was conducted incorporating the results of the study. The services are then evaluated to determine if they have been culturally sensitive and ministry-effective. A major challenge for the church is to find theologically sound and yet culturally sensitive forms of worship which ministers to the surrounding culture without forsaking those presently in the local community of faith.
