  • Using a pro-active methodology, the author sought the leadership of the episcopal office to assemble fourteen clergy from across the Memphis Annual Conference to live out the ministerial focus of the Annual Conference for the conference year. He sought to determine how life in covenant with other clergy around a specific theme could edify the body and help each to grow in faith and grace on the order of the first Methodist preachers. The result of the research indicated that the Annual Conference, when intentionally focused, can still be a means of grace for 'the people called Methodists.'
