- Abstract
- This ministry project examines the effectiveness of a discipleship model in equipping potential lay helpers to do interpersonal ministry. Chapter one provides an introduction and overview of the entire project. Chapter two lays a biblical and theological foundation for an effective discipleship process in the local church. Chapter three investigates the psychological and social dimensions of human need. Chapter four delineates the relevant factors necessary for the implementation of the ministry project. Chapter five provides a complete evaluation. The author concluded that the discipleship model training was effective in providing lay people with some basic skills necessary to provide interpersonal ministry to hurting people. Seventeen people took the discipleship model training; twelve of the participants indicated a willingness to become involved in a people-helping ministry initiated by their church. The author plans to market the discipleship model training to churches and individuals through the Grace Walk Ministry office.
