Abstract
  • the hypothesis of the project is that through a lay counselors' seminar agape can be taught, internalized and communicated to others in need. through insights gained via lecture in the ontological, biblical, theological and psycho-therapeutical areas lay counselors were able to begin the internalization process of agape. A six session seminar was conducted with ten lay persons. Outside reading and journal keeping were required. Counseling techniques were taught relating to listening, grief, depression and spiritual crisis. The participants were involved in one-on-one practice sessions. The seminar proved the hypothesis and was a significant growth experience for participants.
