Abstract
  • This ministry project provided intense training to equip and liberate lay leaders of the Westside Baptist Church (Rapid City, SD) to facilitate practical living groups. Its design also enabled the project designer to exchange his restrictive leadership style for an encouraging one. The eight-week instructional phase utilized numerous concept and skill enhancing methods including reading assignments regarding small groups and their facilitation, cognitive inventories, personality and leadership surveys, and relational exercises. The six-week application phase included supervised ministry with evaluations of relational and leadership skills. The pre-project and project endeavors encompassed nearly eighteen months expanding the ministry program of the church.
