Abstrakt

The purpose of the project is to equip a select group of Christians of the Parkway Baptist Church, Tupelo, Mississippi, to mentor new church members in matters of Christian faith and local church membership. This project will include the following: (1) research into the unique ministry needs of new members; (2) development of a workshop to train selected members to meet the ministry needs of new members, which will include an analysis of new member turnover, a study of assimilation, an introduction to mentoring techniques, a discussion of the discipleship needs of new members, and an overview of local church orientation; and (3) the equipping of selected members to serve as new member mentors.
