- Abstract
- The purpose was to design a program of pastoral care that included the participation of lay people. The program would help them discover their gifts for a ministry of compassion. Phase one of the study was to inform the parish leaders of the project and its purpose. Phase two was the design of a training event for lay pastoral care givers. The third phase is an on-going progress of support, accountability and evaluation. The study resulted in a design for a ministry of pastoral care participated in by lay people under the guidance and support of the ordained pastor.
