Abstract
  • This thesis explores the personal and situational factors that contribute to the development of lay leaders in the church. Through survey and analysis of the self-understanding of a number of church lay leaders, the more significant factors are isolated and described. Results of the research indicate that family and sacramental factors are highest on the list of contributors to these leaders' development. The thesis project also examines the theological implications of the factors described and gives suggestions as to a theology for future leadership development planning.
