- The study sought to develop a Filipino ministry at Kalihi Baptist Church in Honolulu with the Hawaii Baptist Convention. Library research on the Filipinos in Hawaii, exegetical works on selected biblical passages, and community and pastors' surveys were done. The evaluation of the survey of Kalihi Baptist Church indicated that the English-speaking members preferred an integrated Filipino congregation. The non-English speaking Filipinos preferred to have their own services. Pastors and staff of the Hawaii Baptist Convention want to see homogenous Filipino congregations. Bilingual hymnals and literatures were prepared for the Filipino ministry in Honolulu.
