Abstract
  • This project involved a twenty-six week program synthesizing the New York State Department of Corrections shock program with the Christian Bible. The shock program features a substance abuse program based on the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and uses a five-step decision-making process in teaching life skills. The project addresses these dynamics in relationship to biblical application. The purpose was to present inmates with an alternate program based on Christian principles. This was accomplished through presentations and worship services.
