Abstract
  • This project proposes a model for ministry in order to achieve a meaningful pastoral transition at First Baptist Church West (Charlotte, NC). The project conducts a spiritual audit of the congregation, presents a series of sermons addressed to issues in the transition, and administers a survey questionnaire to a random sample of members to determine the effect of preaching and other factors in the transition process. Preaching emerged as the most significant variable for a successful pastoral transition.
