Abstract
  • This study explores the often stormy relationship between preachers and church musicians, and advocates for close working relationship between the two. By reviewing writings of preachers and musicians, and by working closely with the church musician in the congregation served by the writer, the potential for harmonious teamwork was examined. A close partnership is recommended as both profesionally and personally effective and satisfying, strengthening both preaching and worship, and offering a collegial relationship where there might not otherwise be one. By bringing their complementary disciplines and agendas together, the work of both is improved, to the glory of God.
