- Abstract
- This study was designed to assist Greek Orthodox priests in determining worship preferences of Greek immigrants and their descendants. It rests upon the results of a questionnaire that elicited people's preferences concerning choice of language, priest's function, type of iconostasion, use of incense, acolytes, kneeling, congregational singing, congregational praying, frequency of communing, and method of distribution of Holy Communion. The survey was administered to ninety parishioners of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (Virginia Beach, Virginia) and is recommended to seminarians and Orthodox priests throughout America.
