- Abstract
- Conflict is a given reality in all human communities, including religious communities. It is this author's conviction that congregational leaders who have a disciplined spiritual life and are trained in conflict transformation skills will be better able to lead their communities through conflict in a healthy manner. The author developed and facilitated a four-day retreat for congregational leaders practicing classical spiritual disciplines, exploring theological and biblical themes and learning conflict transformation skills. The path leading from conflict to holy communion is arduous, requiring faith, hope, courage and spiritual discipline.
