Abstract
  • The purpose of this study was to examine formational prayer as a theosomatic approach to the treatment of trauma in missionaries. A careful analysis of the theoretical basis of the model was made and presented to a group of Christian mental health professionals and mission personnel in order to assess the theological appropriateness and clinical effectiveness of the model for use by Christians. The results of this study serve to establish formational prayer as a biblically, theologically, and clinically sound theosomatic model of care that has a solid place within the context and history of clinical practice.
