- Abstract
- The null hypothesis for this thesis was: there is no difference in level of Christian commitment between those who understand the theology and purpose of the Lord's Supper, exhibit a positive attitude toward it, regularly observe it, and those who do not. The research group was a random sampling of eleven American Baptist churches in the San Diego area. A questionnaire was given to determine the believer's level of participation in, attitude towards, and understanding of the Lord's Supper. Those in the top twenty percent and bottom twenty percent were given Pittard's Revised Commitment Test. The statistical analysis rejected the null hypothesis at less than the .05 level of significance.
