Abstract
  • The design and implementation of a congregational care ministry was the subject of this project. Volunteers took part in an intensive eight-week Christian caregiving course. The course was designed to equip members with the basic skills necessary to provide competent pastoral care. Three evaluative tools were used as the primary data gathering instruments: a caregivers' survey, a caregivers' interest questionnaire, and the Christian caregivers' course evaluation. Results indicated that participants had the passion, gifts, and skills necessary for a care-oriented ministry. They also showed that the eight-week course contributed positively to their knowledge and skills for providing pastoral care.
