Abstract
  • Calvary Baptist Church of Chicago, IL was the context for this project, where the researcher is the Director of Christian Education. To empower Christian educators, they participated in ten training sessions learning biblical, theological, and historical information, as well as teaching strategies and learning styles. Christian education is the vehicle used to assist in the faith formation of students as they move towards social action. Methodology used for qualitative data collection included a pre-survey, need assessment, and post-survey. The results affirmed that when teachers are empowered, students transform into Christian disciples who empathize with and prophetically act in the community.
