- Abstract
- The project was to develop a culturally sensitive church growth strategy for an eighty-four year old Chinese church in San Antonio, utilizing insight and knowledge from many church growth and church revitalization experts through literature search, a demographic study of the church, a church health assessment study by Dr. Millwood of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, insight gained from personal interviews with three successful Chinese churches in Texas, learning from a 'strategic planning workshop' taught by Dr. Audrey Malphurs of Dallas Theological Seminary and personal observation of the church after serving as the pastor of the church for the past five plus years. The writer recommended a simple and healthy church growth strategy for the church (referred as 'Three do's and three don'ts' in the report) to enable the church to take advantages of her strengths, cultural niche, and to remove barriers and hindrances which have limited her potential growth capability.
