Abstract
  • Using dyadic adjustment, anxiety and depression scales the dissertation/project measured the extent, severity and chronicity and examined possible sources of marital stress among NSW (Australian) Uniting Church clergy and their spouses, finding support for two hypotheses: that there is significant marital stress among the group tested, and that stress is chronic in nature both within individuals and within the group. Results also suggest that the overall quality of clergy marriages parallels that of the Australian community.
